Princeton - Embracing Paradox
Mark 9:24 "Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" Tony Jones busted out this pericope from Mark 9:14-24 and said that student ministry should embrace paradox. He told the story of a physics professor who said this to him, "In physics we embrace paradox, why can't we do it in theology?" The boy's father believed, but he didn't believe. In our context students believe, but they don't believe. Our students have faith, but they also have doubt. Is there room in our theology for paradox? Is there room in our small groups for paradox? Is there room in our church for paradox?
